22 September 2021

Dear RCAF Association member,

In 2022 we will mark the 70th year on the throne of our beloved RCAF Association Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Millions of well-wishers from the UK, the Commonwealth and beyond will take part in a spectacular mixture of traditional pageantry, technological displays and public events. The highlight of the celebrations will be the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday, 5 June 2022, which will see 3,000 performers and participants from across the UK and the Commonwealth parade past Buckingham Palace and up The Mall in front of vast crowds and the world’s media.

The Queen has served as our Patron since shortly after our creation in May 1948. Understandably, we are very interested in helping to mark her reign of 70 years – the longest of any sovereign. To this end, the RCAF Association has been formally invited by St James’s House to join a “select group of organisations to feature in a commemorative book” celebrating Her Majesty’s service and our RCAF Association. Many of our members will recognize St James’s House was hired to produce commemorative material recently celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force (RAF). This is a unique and important opportunity for our RCAF Association. To be featured in this book, and to be invited to be a substantive part of these upcoming commemorations, are themselves opportunities to promote who we are and what we do. This is an advocacy opportunity to wave the RCAF ensign to also help others learn as the RCAF’s centenary also approaches.

This opportunity includes: a feature in the official Platinum Jubilee Pageant commemorative album about the RCAF and the RCAF Association; the services and support of the St James’s House editorial and design team; an interview to be filmed in person with either Katie Nicholl or Robert Jobson, team leaders responsible for this project; the services of either Katie Nicholl or Robert Jobson to write our feature; license to the copyright of our feature; 100 complementary presentation copies of the album/book; invitations to the exclusive watch party marquee event for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on 5 June 2022; invitations to the evening’s album/book launch at Claridge’s in central London; permission to publicise our involvement in the project; and, license to use the specially commissioned St James’s House project logo.

The RCAF Association leadership believe this to be a worthwhile project, in terms of providing participating members with a rare souvenir marking this auspicious anniversary (a copy of this limited-edition album/publication). It is also important that we participate owing to the opportunity to promote our RCAF Association’s more than seven decades of service in support of Canada’s air force and the men and women who have served Canada so proudly.

If you are interested in this offer, in exchange for a $1,000 donation to the RCAF Association Trust Fund, the first one hundred donors will receive a personal copy of this coveted keepsake commemorative album and the chance to enter a draw to attend the 5 June 2022 event in London, UK to help represent the RCAF Association in the VIP section on The Mall and to also attend the events at Claridge’s later that evening. The RCAF Association will subsidize travel and accommodation costs of up to $2,500 CDN for one member-in-good-standing who donates to this project, to help defray costs for one lucky winner. Remember, this offer is only available to the first 100 donors who donate $1,000 (or more).

As your National President/Chairman of the Board of Directors I hereby commit to being the first to donate $1,000 to demonstrate how much I believe in the importance of commemorating the truly inspirational and outstanding service rendered by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I encourage others to give serious consideration to this invitation to donate. Should you wish, you may donate any amount on-line at (search for Royal Canadian Air Force Association Trust). An additional five (5) copies of the album will be the subject of another draw the names for which will belong to those who may prefer donating other amounts. Thank you for your kind consideration to this special offer. To learn more about this offer, please visit the following website to review the information pamphlet:
