Son of a 27 year air force veteran

Served seven years with the Canadian Armed Forces. Four of the seven as a reservist.

Co-founder of the Associate Air Force Historian Program with retired Captain Don Pearsons at 17 Wing, Winnipeg. I continue to act as an RCAF Associate Historian where I am the ‘Special Projects Officer – Missing Canadian Military Airmen and Aircraft Recovery’.

Historical Consultant with the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Studies at 17 Wing, Winnipeg. Have done extensive research (mostly RCAF personnel in Bomber Command) for hundreds of people who lost a relative during the Second World War.

12 years as a civilian Public Affairs Officer with the USAF’s 4722d SPTS which was later re-designated as the 722d SUS at 22 Wing North Bay.

Published author – The first book I co-wrote with Captain Don Nicks and MCpl John John Bradley was ‘A History of the Air Defence of Canada 1948 to 1997′. It was written on behalf of the commander of Fighter Group, Brigadier General Dave Jurkowski in con-junction f the stand down of Fighter Group Incidentally it was proof-read by Lt. Colonel Terry Leversedge. Also been involved in at least 20 other books including being a ghost writer. Hugh Halliday and myself wrote a four-volume set on the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan that has not been published yet.

Researcher and advisor for Radio Canada for a story they did on Remembrance Day back in 1991 pertaining to the RCAF and U-Boats if the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Involved in 27 airshows where my duties were numerous including Deputy Air Boss at the Muskoka Air Fair in 1995.

A licensed civilian pilot since April 1974. Former Captain of Flight 23 – Canadian Owners and Pilots Association

A member of MACV – Michigan Associate of Concerned Veterans, which was instrumental in putting in the Canadian Viet Nam Veterans Memorial in Windsor, Ontario

Volunteer at Cogeco TV Cable 12 here in North Bay. Variety of production duties including reporting.

Air Tour Co-ordinator of the The Fairview Aircraft Restoration Society Canso Cross-Country tour last year.

A Director with Halifax 57 Rescue. Our team leader is Karl Kjarsgaard who is largely responsible for getting Halifax s/n NA337 out of Lake Majosa in Norway and now at the National Air Force Museum of Canada
