
24 years service as an Engineering Officer in the Royal Air Force including:
1968 – 73 – Successful completion of Officer Cadet and Engineering Degree programmes at the RAF College, Cranwell.
1973 – 81 – Appointments in base maintenance organisations in the UK and Germany with experience on bomber, transport, fighter, and rotary wing aircraft including planning and implementation of changes to maintenance facilities for changes in base assigned aircraft.
1981 – 92 – Appointments in maintenance and operational support organisations, including a Command Headquarters, covering maintenance data analysis, supporting new aircraft programmes, and in service aircraft programmes. This phase was ‘interrupted’ by successful completion of a Masters Degree programme at the Cranfield Institute of Technology (now Cranfield University). Planning budgets and Long Term Costings (forecasting) on a 10 year ‘rolling’ basis for personnel requirements.
1992 – 2016– After emigrating to Canada on retirement from the Royal Air Force, Industrial appointments, including management, in Canada and USA for:
Design, flight testing, and certification of new aircraft and equipment – including Bombadier CRJ-700, Learjet 40, Sino-Swearingen SJ30, and aircraft water and waste systems.
Design, flight testing, and certification, including validation of certification with foreign aviation authorities, of VIP interiors, auxiliary fuel systems, and satellite communication systems.
During this time I complete a Masters of Business Administration Degree at Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas (2000 – 02).
