Date: Friday, 6 September, 2024
Time: 11:00 am ( all guests should be present / seated by 10:45 am)
Location: 1335 Hemlock Road, Ottawa, (the corner of Hemlock Rd and Codds Rd).
Dress: RCAFA Blues and Greys with headdress and full medals
Seating: Reserved seating (folding chairs) will be available for all 410 Wing attendees and their spouses / partners.
Parking and Transportation Plan: Due to the construction in the area, parking is limited at or near the site. To help alleviate limited parking conditions 410 Wing has funded a bus for 410 Wing members with mobility challenges, in need of transport. These specific 410 Wing members are encouraged to meet in the free parking area at the Canadian Air & Space Museum (CASM) parking lot no-later-than 10:15 am, where they can board a chartered bus to transport 410 Wing members, a family member, and our Air Cadet guests, from the Canadian Air & Space Museum parking lot to the Barker Park site. All other RCAF A attendees are encouraged to find suitable parking in and around the site along Hemlock and other surrounding streets, where permitted. Signs will indicate where the free parking is located (adjacent to where the bus will be parked for loading of passengers) at the CASM. The bus will return to the CASM following the ceremony (for a reception at the Museum).
Reception: A reception will be held immediately following the Park Grand Opening ceremony at the Canadian Air & Space Museum from 12:00 to 1:30pm
Weather: The event will proceed rain or shine. Canada Lands Company will have a supply of umbrellas available for use by guests. Should the weather be inclement or your schedule not permit your attendance at the Park, you are still welcome to join us for the reception.
