RCAFA National Auction

Good day fellow RCAF Association members.

As you are aware the RCAF Association has been supporting RCAF veterans, youth and all things aviation for the past 86 years. In order to continue the Association’s great legacy of service your Association BOD has authorized the convening of an Auction sub committee in order to raise $50,000.00. The auction sub committee has been meeting for some months now and have diligently been going about the tasks of attracting donors, ten so far and choosing the auction host company ZEFFY free to Not For Profit organizations.

The Auction sub committee is made up of four Association BOD members and volunteers from the general membership. The chair of this sub committee is David Farnsworth and the co-chair is Walter Peckham. The aim of this auction is to raise $50,000.00 for the Association to offset its operating costs and possibly deter any increase in members dues in the near future.

Business and corporate sponsors are being tracked by Ralph Murphy email; Ralph And Doris Murphy <ralphanddoris@bellaliant.net>. So if you know of businesses that are willing to donate to this cause please ensure that they are to deal with Ralph only as he will be tracking all these and we do not want duplicate entries.

Wing and individual member donations are being tracked by Walter Peckham, email Walter Peckham <vchairontgroup@gmail.com>.

You may not be aware we have 39 Wings with over 2,000 members that have to be tracked. So we are requesting individual wings to appoint a member as their auction committee liaison. These ambassadors would be able to give the wings “Real Time” information. They would be able to solicit donations from members and their business associates and be the initial contact between the wing and Walter Peckham.

We know some wings are not financially well off. Suggestions are to contact local businesses to come on board either by monetary donation or Gift Certificates. Some ideas: Golf packages, local water cruises, anything you can think of. All monetary donations will be used to purchase products or packages for the auction. We can leverage these funds by a factor of three.

Our major donors thus far are; NHLPA, The National Air Force Museum of Canada, Beaverworks Mint, The Locker Room, The Hockshop, Aviation Distribution, Terry Chester and Rudy Mak. There are other sponsors and donors in the works and we will add them as they officially come on board.

Some key points to share now:

  1. Regular members who wish to donate $20.00 will be entered in a draw for RCAFA kit shop items, more to follow on this. The auction committee will be able to leverage these funds two or three times to purchase packages, trips etc. Donations can be sent to accounts@airforce.ca. Please ensure you annotate in your transfer that the funds are being donated to RCAF Association Auction.
  2. Donations can also be made through links in our social media account, The Air Force magazine, by cheque, credit card by calling 1-613-232-2303 Ext. 109 Khadija Cutcher.
  3. The Auction will be held online from 21 September 2026 to 03 October 2026. We hope to have an advance viewing available for bidders by August 15, 2026.

Further information, will be disseminated as it arises, from the Auction Committee to Group Chairs, to forward to Wing Chairs who can keep their membership current on all pertinent information. If a wing has a volunteer for the Auction Committee Liaison it may be more effective to email them.

As with any successful organization nothing is done without volunteers as none of this will be possible with your help. We thank you for all your support in the past and continued support.
