Wellington aircraft #W 4265 swung on takeoff and collided with Hudson aircraft #N 7332. The Wellington became airborne, then stalled, crashed and burned at Mount Farm. Sgt C.G. Wiley was killed in the Wellington and FS Riedy was killed in the Hudson. Flight Sergeant Pilot Riedy is buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery, Woking, Surrey, England.

Halifax aircraft #NP 947 was shot down in Killund Bay, near Apenrade, Denmark during night operations over the harbour at Flensburg Germany. F/Os M.C. Grant, M.G. Fife, P/Os W.E. Archer, R.C. Carnegie, J. Pollard (RAF), and Sgt J.J. Farquhar (RAF) were also killed. One Canadian, F/O J.G. Agnew, was taken Prisoner of War. Pilot Officer Wireless Operator Air Gunner Rielly was buried at Apenrade, exhumed, and reburied in the Aabenraa Cemetery, Jutland, Denmark.

RIEP, KARL FS(BA) R140266. From Crossfield, Alberta. Killed Oct 22/43 age 23. #1657 Conversion Unit, Stradishall, England. Stirling aircraft #EF 352 had engine trouble so the pilot attempted a landing after dark and in a heavy rain. The aircraft struck a tree and crashed at Chipping Warden, England. Four airmen, not Canadians, were also killed. Flight Sergeant Bomb Aimer Riep is buried in the Botley Cemetery, North Hinskey, Berkshire, England.
