Halifax aircraft #MZ 808 was shot down over the Dam between Agerness and Helnas Penninsula on the south-west coast of Denmark during a night mine- laying operation at Kiel, Germany. F/L J.A. Morgan, F/O J.E. Clerc, FS J.W. Moffat, and Sgt R.F. Young (RAF) were also killed. These five airmen were buried in the same collective grave. Two Canadians, F/Os G.H. Gill and P.E. He was killed when his aircraft crashed at Myingyan, Burma. F/O Stewart had previously flown Thunderbolt aircraft when assigned to #30 Squadron.
